Aila Niemelä, PhD (Education), BSW, DipPS, PDL'ship, DipFamCT, is a professionally trained and qualified organisational consultant; a counsellor, supervisor, trainer and coach, based in Finland
- her experience and competence is in adult education, leadership, workplace communication, cross-cultural issues, school social work and parenting
- she holds a PhD in adult education from University of Tampere, a Bachelor of Social Work and Diplomas in both Professional Supervision and Leadership & Organisational Development. Aila has worked as a school social worker for 15 years in Finland and an independent full time consultant since 1997. She has lived overseas, in Sydney and Singapore, for 4 years
- Aila has published several books and articles about student services and school social work, multicultural issues and relocation in Australia, in Finnish. Her doctoral research is on promoting cross-cultural compentence by professional supervision.
